On May 22 and 24, Whitehorse is hosting the annual International Toastmasters Conference, which has delegates coming to the Yukon from as far away as Alaska and Alberta. The theme is leadership on all levels and in all walks of life.

The event starts Friday evening with registration, entertainment and an opportunity to connect with other like-minded people.

Saturday starts off strong with a powerful keynote address, a workshop on leadership in the workplace and then a panel discussion with movers and shakers from Northwestel, First Nations and Government.

The afternoon sees delegates choose between such workshops as technical presentations, growing leadership in youth, personal wellness, grounding the body and volunteer leadership.

The evening is a gala affair. Professional musicians provide the backdrop to a banquet. The highlight of the evening, however, is the international speech contest and will see the Yukon, again, competing against the best in Alaska.

Sunday is given over to an all-day seminar on Passionomics: how to put passion back into your life, your work and your pocketbook. Alan Goff is an award-winning and inspirational speaker, an author and a corporate trainer who will motivate you to make the changes you desire.
