“Contraction And Expansion”, Aimee Ellis

April 9 @ 11:00 am - May 1 @ 4:00 pm MST

Contraction-And-Expansion-Aimee Ellis

An exploration of connections and barriers through the pandemic, displayed in fused glass. Come engage with the beautiful colours and forms of glass art!

Like the rest of the world the pandemic is changing my life in unpredictable ways. The way I look at travel has transformed significantly. I used to think of travel as discovering and exploring new places, though upon reflection over this past year I’m now seeing travel more from the perspective of building and maintaining relationships.

As is the case for most Yukoners, the majority of my family and friends live elsewhere and I miss them. This fused glass exhibition is an exploration of my connections with my family (biological and chosen) who live outside, an exploration of what the Yukon as home means to me, and the barriers the pandemic has erected between outside and the Yukon. While my world has contracted over the last year, it has also simultaneously expanded as I reach out and am seeing it in different ways.

Limited to ticket holders only.

Covid-19 protocols in place for this event.
