Fringe Earrings 101 with Jordon Davis

In this workshop, participants will learn the skills to create their own pair of beaded fringe earrings.

Jordon Davis is an Indigiqueer artist of Cree and settler descent, and a band member of Dene Tha’ First Nation. Davis currently resides on the stolen lands of the Katzie, Kwantlen, and Semiahmoo peoples. After attended MacEwan University for a short time, she has been exhibiting in and around so called “Vancouver” ever since. With exhibitions at Evergreen Cultural Centre and The Polygon Gallery. Davis is a mixed media artist focusing on installation, beading, and video work. She plays with mixing traditional and modern styles in all of her work. Valuing the teachings of her elders, family and community members is of the utmost importance, while also being able to experiment and make her own way.
Davis focuses on creating and maintaining space for under/misrepresented peoples, along with uplifting the voices of her Indigenous and queer peers with different lived experiences. Creating art and taking up space in art spheres is her form of activism.
