Intro to the Guzheng & Shadow Puppets with musician Erica Mah

We are excited to invite you to try something new at Whitehorse Public Library this March Break with our free workshop series!

Come watch a performance of traditional Chinese songs spanning centuries, and learn about the characteristics of the guzheng that make it unique: Water Sounds, Pitch Bends. Swings, and the Pentatonic scale. Following the performance, participants will have an opportunity to ask questions, and try playing some of the guzheng techniques on their own.

Then we’ll switch gears to make shadow puppets you can bring home!

This is a free drop-in event for all ages, families welcome.
