Introduction to Special Effects Makeup
This 5-day course will be delivered over two weekends by Emmy Award-winning make-up FX artist and prosthetic designer Karlee Morse. It will expose participants to the world of FX make-up, prosthetic application and techniques. Emphasis will be placed on character make-up and the use of make-up in a narrative setting – for both film/tv and theatre – as well as prosthetic building and gore/blood fx.
All materials will be provided.

ABOUT KARLEE MORSE:
Karlee Morse is an Emmy award-winning (“Outstanding Special Effects Costume, Make-up and Hairstyling”, “Dino Dana”, 2020) and Canadian Screen Award-losing (“Achievement in Make-up”, “The Retreat”, 2022) make-up artist specializing in prosthetic design and application – she has a keen interest in pushing the limits of practical effects to achieve fantastic but feasible looks. Her work has been featured in television, film, commercials, music videos and theatre. Past clients include Disney, Blizzard Entertainment, Ubisoft, and Telus.
