Raku Pottery Retreat

Sep 4 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm MST

Raku Pottery Retreat

There are still a few spots available!

Join us for a weekend retreat at beautiful Boréale Explorers & Boréale Ranch, nestled at the base of the Seven Sisters mountain range.

The two days will be packed with hands on raku and smoke firings to empower your pottery skills, with guest instructors Jordan Munro of High Country Art , and four members of North Peace Potters’ Guild .

Lots of space to spread out and enjoy the surroundings – with large deck spaces, spacious grass lawns, and gorgeous walking trails to take breaks.

Catered lunch on both days, and dinner on September 4. Made by Boréale Ranch’s professional chefs with local ingredients.

Bring 5-8 small pieces (coffee mug sized), and/or up to 1 larger forms. 8lbs of clay is provided, and can be picked up at Arts Underground once you’ve claimed your spot. Pieces must be bisque fired in advance of the retreat. The Arts Underground kilns have scheduled bisque firings on August 29 & 31. Please have your work on the shelves a few days before.

We’ll be providing a variety of raku glaze options, including crackles, turquoise & copper glazes, naked raku, and horse hair techniques. We’ll run 4-5 Kiln firings per day & 1 smoke fire over the course of the weekend, concluding Sunday evening.
