If you think you need one of those, drop-in and check it out.

What is a tetanus vaccine?
The tetanus vaccine protects against tetanus, a serious disease caused by bacteria usually found in soil. The tetanus vaccine is sometimes combined with pertussis vaccine and is recommended to adults once after 19 years of age and to all pregnant women in the last trimester. These vaccines are safe to have in combination with other vaccines including COVID-19 and influenza.

Who needs one?
A tetanus booster is recommended every 10 years for everyone 19 and older.

What is a pneumococcal vaccine?
The pneumococcal vaccine protects against the bacteria that can cause serious and life-threatening infections such as meningitis (an infection of the lining that covers the brain), septicemia (an infection of the blood), and pneumonia (an infection of the lungs). It is often referred to as the “pneumonia vaccine” although it protects against more than just pneumonia and only protects against one type of bacterial pneumonia.

Who needs one?
For everyone 65 and older a pneumococcal vaccine is recommended once. Some people under 65 with chronic conditions may also be recommended to get a pneumococcal vaccine. You can discuss this with your healthcare provider.
