📚When Michael Gates first came to the Yukon, he was enthralled by the history of the southwest Yukon. For forty years, he gathered stories and historical information about the Dalton (Chilkat) Trail, a route that he
has traveled on foot, by horse, automobile, boat and airplane. Join Michael at the Yukon Transportation Museum, where he will share his experiences in a visual presentation exploring the history of the trail as a First Nation trade route, a gold rush
trail, and modern travel corridor. He will describe its role as the most important route for cattle drives to the Klondike during and after the gold rush of 1898.
