Wild Crafts – Handmade Watercolour Palette
In this two-hour workshop, you’ll be working with ingredients that can be found all around us to make a number of ink and watercolours, including classics like avocado pit or charcoal but also copper, black beans, and much more. At the end of the workshop, participants will walk away with their own watercolor palette and inks. Participants will learn the chemistry involved, how to modify colours, and the step-by-step process to have the tools to continue exploring the colours in their environment. This workshop is open to all ages, but we ask that children 12 years and under be accompanied by an adult.
About the instructor: Shams enjoys creating with all aspects of the Makespace and empowering others to do the same. Her workshops have included 3D printing, upcycled clothing, resin carpentry, metalworking, and intro to circuits. In the summer, Shams works as an outdoor guide with Outward Bound, where she finds joy in seeing youth and adults alike surprising themselves with what they can do.
