One-day conference to explore the context, capacity and opportunities for Yukon's social sector.
Co-hosted by Volunteer Bénévoles Yukon, Yukonstruct and YZED Projects.
The Social Sector includes nonprofits, not governmental organizations, charities, social enterprises and social-purpose businesses.
Participants will include up to 175 representatives from nonprofit organizations, First Nations, government and businesses.
The agenda will include:
- Keynote presentation by the Honourable Senator Pat Duncan on the Special Senate Committee Recommendations for the Charitable Sector
- overview of the sector stats and trends
- updates on upcoming opportunities
- what's next for Yukon's new Societies Act
- panel discussion on social enterprise and their growing profile
- exploring opportunities to collaborate, innovate and explore towards greater social impact on our communities.
