I used a Nikon D90 with a 18-300 lens shooting out the car window to take these photos. There were four of us in the car shooting photos out the window and watching to make sure we were not distressing the bears. There was a brown bear and a black bear eating the vetch.
The Whitehorse Photography Club makes a photo trip to Skagway during June every year to photograph the field of irises at Dyea Tidal Flats; the townsite is now a U.S. National Historic Landmark . We always see bears on the road on the way home. In June 2016 we were not disappointed. I have been doing this trip every year since 1976.
