Living With Wildlife: Erin Purdie

It was a cloudy afternoon in late August at approximately 2 p.m. when my

husband called me to come to our bedroom. Through the bedroom window I

was shocked to see this beautiful owl perched on the ledge of our deck. He

stayed there for approximately 15 minutes looking into our greenbelt and back

to us. I was happily snapping photos until he flew away. I have never seen an

owl in the Yukon before. My husband thinks he was hunting the mice and

squirrels in the greenbelt. Nevertheless, it was an amazing moment that I will

never forget.

This was taken with a Nikon D3100 camera.
