Cherries are everywhere right now, and when they’re in season, it can be easy to buy a few too many and end up with some sad, limp cherries in your fridge. A cherry crisp makes use of those sad cherries while still letting them be the star that they are this time of year.

Cherries are everywhere right now, and when they’re in season, it can be easy to buy a few too many and end up with some sad, limp cherries in your fridge. A cherry crisp makes use of those sad cherries while still letting them be the star that they are this time of year.

Ingredients

  • 1 large bag fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Set the oven at 375 degrees F and scatter pitted cherries in a roasting pan.
  2. Using your fingers, mash together butter, flour, and sugar into a paste. Press flour/butter mixture onto cherries in an even layer.
  3. Bake crisp until cherries are bubbling and crisp is brown, about 25 minutes.
