Cherries are everywhere right now, and when they’re in season, it can be easy to buy a few too many and end up with some sad, limp cherries in your fridge. A cherry crisp makes use of those sad cherries while still letting them be the star that they are this time of year.
1 large bag fresh cherries, pitted
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
- Set the oven at 375 degrees F and scatter pitted cherries in a roasting pan.
- Using your fingers, mash together butter, flour, and sugar into a paste. Press flour/butter mixture onto cherries in an even layer.
- Bake crisp until cherries are bubbling and crisp is brown, about 25 minutes.
