The Bennett Sun, with this band you will hear mountains to valleys

The Bennett Sun
The Bennett Sun

Canadiana with a hint of the traditional south, performed by an all-lady string band consisting of fiddle, mandolin, guitar, upright bass, a dash of banjo and keys and some percussion. The Bennett Sun is rich with vocal harmonies and has a sound described as a cross between tumbleweed pop and city folk. In addition to their creative mix of instruments, songs span the range of traditional bluegrass to folk and you will also hear original compositions by song-writer Dana Jennejohn. The Bennett Sun has been playing together since 2010 and released their first EP in 2015. Since that time they have been a showcase band at Breakout West and regional winners of CBC Searchlight. While they love to tour to festivals outside of the Yukon, they especially love playing for their home audience and often play house concerts and local festivals. The band released their first full length studio album Chickaloon in the fall of 2018.
