It’s almost daft that daffodils,
just sitting on
a windowsill
(smiling at
their sunney selves),
can brighten all
the other shelves.
Yellow’s just
a colour too,
no happier
than green or blue,
and yet there’s somehow
nothing quite
like daffodils
for sharing light.
