Diverse Foliage by Jose Gonzalo
A
leaf
releases
off its parent tree.
The breeze carries me far away from home.
I gently descend onto this new land. I experience the sun’s warm welcome
Embraced by nature’s tickle, I become one with the soil.
New life sprouts all around me, while different spectrums of color and shape appear
That’s what being Canadian means to me.
All wandering from different roots
Each one working together
Whether it be downslope or upriver
To till the land our Creator has provided
To open roads for the children of tomorrow
That’s the Canada I’ve come to know
That’s the Canada I’ve come
to LOVE.
