Klondike Korner: Poetry Corner

This frame once served as a

sales pitch to the world.

Now, stripped of its

painted enticements

and weathered to a natural grey,

it offers a another kind of frame,

a way of picturing the world,

a means of focusing

attention on the interplay

of light and shadow,

blue, white, green and brown,

the image sliced by the wires that

connect us all

with power and light.

After 32 years teaching in rural Yukon schools, Dan Davidson retired from that profession but continues writing about life in Dawson City.
