This frame once served as a
sales pitch to the world.
Now, stripped of its
painted enticements
and weathered to a natural grey,
it offers a another kind of frame,
a way of picturing the world,
a means of focusing
attention on the interplay
of light and shadow,
blue, white, green and brown,
the image sliced by the wires that
connect us all
with power and light.
After 32 years teaching in rural Yukon schools, Dan Davidson retired from that profession but continues writing about life in Dawson City.
