Didee & Didoo – Poem “Buttons”

Buttons

We used to play this game

and buttons is the name.

With buttons we pay

an’ that’s why we play.

We dig a hole in the ground

a small hole that’s round.

But it’s bad news

when we start to lose.

We cut buttons off our clothes

not a good idea I suppose.

Our moms we never tell

’cause she wouldn’t feel well.

I wasn’t like a pro

’cause I had a bad throw.

When I lose my last button

at least I have a belly button.

Buttons was our game

but I had a bad aim.

Didoo bought clothes with zip

so buttons I wouldn’t rip.
